FAQ

Q: Who are coroners?

A: When asking who are coroners, it is best said that a coroner is the presiding officer of a special court to investigate deaths that occur under unusual circumstances where conventional criminal proceedings are not immediately called for.

Coroners are elected officials who take special training as prescribed by the state in which they work. This training, often times in combination with mortuary science experience, makes coroners well equipped to perform their task.
